Ride a rickshaw at Margate beach

It's a wonderful and fun element that has been added.

Visitors to Margate beach can now take a rickshaw ride while enjoying the tranquil beachfront scenery. Ugu South Coast Tourism (USCT) along with members of various business associations and municipal stakeholders attended the launch of Nethezeka Tourist Transport and Projects’ rickshaws at the Margate beach amphitheatre last Friday.

The day’s festivities began with a welcome from USCT tourism development manager Maxwell Mhlongo and an address from USCT CEO Phelisa Mangcu. “We are supporting a Small Medium Micro Enterprises (SMME) and youth, to ensure they participate in this industry. From our side we are trying to support Sphamandla Shude of Nethezeka every step of the way on his journey. We have youth here who are going to be tourism monitors as well and area committees were very supportive of this initiative,” Mangcu said.

She also added that they are happy that the private sector has been supportive. Famous actress and South Coaster, Fundi Zwane was excited about the initiative of youth development and excellence, before being the first to enjoy a ride on a rickshaw, along with the Mangcu.

“I thank the Margate Business Association, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, Singatha ICT Incubator and USCT for believing in and supporting me. Rikshaws are only about a quarter of my business ideas” said Shude, founder of Nethezeka.
