Two die in separate incidents

Mpinge confirmed that the deceased has not been identified as yet.

Rescue services have yet again had a busy time in the last week.

Police spokesman, Captain Petros Mpinge said Margate Saps registered an inquest for investigation after a wall allegedly collapsed and fell on a 36-year-old man in Shad Drive in Ramsgate last Thursday.

Rudi Prinsloo from Medevac said SAPS Search and Rescue attended a scene in Ramsgate where a wall collapsed at a building site.

Mpinge confirmed that the deceased has not been identified as yet.

Last Saturday, rescue services responded to a drowning off Oslo Beach.

Prinsloo said they attended along with Netcare 911 and Saps Search and Rescue.

Mpinge confirmed that Port Shepstone Detective Service opened an inquest case after the body of Mervyn Moonsamy (48) who allegedly drowned was retrieved from the sea near Oslo beach.

Prinsloo said the man was swimming when tragedy struck.

Medevac with Saps Search and Rescue launched their boat, God’s Grace at Shelly Beach Ski-Boat Club and managed to retrieve the body.

Mr Prinsloo confirmed the man was swimming at a beach with no lifeguards, and warned bathers to be extra careful when swimming.
