Festive treat for single mothers and gogos

The security company sponsored 40 grocery hampers to single mothers and grannies in the Southport policing precinct last week.

Passionate about uplifting the community and reaching out to those in need, PT Alarms showed full support to the recent 16 Days of Activism campaign.

The security company sponsored 40 grocery hampers to single mothers and grannies in the Southport policing precinct last Wednesday.

At an event hosted by Southport Saps in collaboration with the Department of Social Development, Community Policing Forum, Tugs Foundation and Lifeline, 40 excited women of all ages gathered at the Madlala Community Centre to be empowered and given a treat.

The women listened intently to important information on gender based violence and the help that is available to them.

All stakeholders shared a message of hope and inspiration including PT Alarms tactical manager, Dhevan Govindasamy who encouraged the women to break the silence on violence.

Southport Saps spokesperson Sergeant Magubane thanked all roleplayers for the part they play in ensuring that assistance is offered to the community.

The 40 recipients were elated with their grocery hampers and enjoyed a delightful meal sponsored by Tugs Foundation before hauling their Christmas treats home.

“PT Alarms strives to build up communities and the PT management was thrilled to be a part of the 16 Days of Activism programme. It was rewarding to see the joy on the faces of the elderly who had goodies to take home to their grandchildren.

We commend Sgt Magubane and all role players for the incredible work that they do to assist the community,” said Govindasamy.
