Rare visit: Bronze-winged courser spotted in Sheppie garden
Birding enthusiasts enjoyed the rare sighting.
A bronze-winged courser, spotted in a garden in Port Shepstone, has caused something of a stir among avid birders.
Louis Marx saw the courser last week Sunday and explained that it was way out of its usual territory, alerting some of his fellow birders and inviting them to enjoy the bird’s visit.
“This bird is not often seen in our neck of the woods and is a rare summer visitor, with Louis last having seen it in Etosha in 2006 where it is more commonly found,” explained Jean Marx, Louis’s wife.
