Bruce Gounder, a well-known local actor from Scottburgh, has been selected to go to the United Kingdom as well as the United States of America to showcase his movie, Fish’s Tale which premiered in Durban earlier this year.
The actor was overwhelmed with emotion on hearing the surprising news and is still in a state of euphoria.
“This is very exciting and I cannot wait to travel to these places,” he said.
The movie will be showcased as part of the African Focus International Film Festival in April next year.
“I’m looking forward to meeting other great talents abroad, as well as getting in touch with great directors and movie producers.”
Gounder explained that in the last few years, he has grown tremendously as an actor and executive producer, despite Covid-19 and all that came with it.
“It’s amazing knowing that I am starting to get recognition to this extent and develop myself even more.”
“I am not here to compete with anyone or try and be better than anyone, I simply wish to collaborate with many others in the same field.”
Gounder is currently busy with fundraising to help him cover travel and accommodation costs.
