UPDATE: Search still on for man washed off Splash Rock
According to NSRI spokesman, Craig Lambinon, there remains no sign of the man.

Police spokesman Captain Petros Mpinge confirmed that the Police Search and Rescue Unit continues with the search in Port Edward following a report of an unknown man who was washed off Splash Rock on January 1 at around 18:00.
“The inquiry docket is being investigated by Port Edward detectives,” Mpinge said.

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) was activated following reports of a drowning in progress at Splash Rock on Saturday at 17:36 where an unidentified man had been washed off rocks by waves.
According to Craig Lambinon, NSRI spokesperson, a sea rescue craft was launched and NSRI rescue swimmers and Police Search and Rescue responded.
“Despite an extensive search there remains no sign of the man,” Lambinon added.
Police Search and Rescue, assisted by NSRI Port Edward, are continuing in a search and investigations to determine the identity of the man.
