Two survive near drowning at Glenmore beach

They were pulled to safety by lifesavers.

Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to the Glenmore beach area this afternoon for reports of a drowning.

Craig Botha of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service said that when emergency services arrived, they found that two patients were being treated by NSRI Port Edward for a near drowning.

“According to witnesses, a 14 year old child and adult got caught in a current. Lifesavers rushed to their assistance and managed to pull the patients to safety,” Botha said.

Paramedics continued treating the patients for near drowning and transported the child to hospital for further care.
