Shelly Beach model wins provincial beauty title
The young woman had to work tirelessly to be seen as a strong competitor throughout her time as a finalist.
Dreams do come true!
Sibusisiwe Zwane (20) of Shelly Beach recently brought home the Miss KwaZulu-Natal Queen beauty pageant title.
The former Port Shepstone High learner, had hoped this pageant would kickstart her modelling career (at a provincial level), and it has done just that!

Zwane said she felt elated and in disbelief to have won the crown as she had been working twice as hard than most, since this was her first-ever pageant.
“I had to work tirelessly to be seen as a strong competitor throughout my time as a finalist and I am glad that my dedication and hard work was recognised,” she said.
She explained that Miss KZN Queen advocates for mental health and winning this title means that it is her job to advocate, educate and inform the public, most especially the citizens of her province about the stigmas and issues related to mental health, more so in a province where mental health issues are not taken seriously and are looked down upon.
“Not only am I now a mental health advocate but I am a representative of the youth, most especially young woman and a role model to my peers and those younger than me, so it is my duty to lead by example in everything I do, to show young women that anything is possible if they believe in themselves, and believe that they are capable beyond unfathomable measure,” she said.

Zwane has also been very lucky as members of her university’s Student Representative Council has reached out to her, to head community outreach and social upliftment programmes in 2023, and she is looking forward to do her title justice.
