Maths boffins make PS Senior Primary proud

Sixteen learners from Grade 4 to 7 participated in the competition

The Grade 5 learners at Port Shepstone Senior Primary school visited Riverbend Crocodile Farm and Mpenjati Nature Reserve as an educational outing a week ago.

Grade 5 learners at Riverbend Crocodile Farm are (back) Klara Higgens, (middle) Khwezilomso Ndunge, Hannah Pillay, Vinishka du Toit, Alizwa Tukuma, Melody Willard and Juanita Thompson, with Emily Porter, Liam Poynesindlay and Yusuf Dindar in front.

The learners observed a presentation where they were briefed about crocodiles and snakes and were given an opportunity to hold a baby crocodile. During their tour at Mpenjati, the learners completed a nature trail and enjoyed having a picnic.

On the sporting side, Tyheera Mohansha and Zachary Chetty were selected to participate in the Sayidi Circuit training which took place at the Marburg volleyball courts. Congratulations to both participants.

The Ugu District Mental Maths competition (circuit level) was held at Louisiana Primary School.
Sixteen learners from Grade 4 to 7 participated in the competition.
Nkanyezi Sikhosana was placed third in Grade 4. Samara Ramkubare was placed first in Grade 5, followed by Mikyle Naidu in second place and Yusuf Sader who was placed third. Lizalise Chagi was placed first in Grade 6 with Sonali Paramunsee in second place. Aarav Rampersad was placed first in Grade 7.

Well done to all participants on their outstanding achievements.
