Armed robbers fatally shoot motorist on N2 in Scottburgh

An official police report on the incident has been requested.

A man was shot and killed after what appears to have been an armed robbery on the N2 in Scottburgh, near Scottburgh Mall, last night (August 31).

Reports indicate that the man and his girlfriend were driving in the area (both in separate vehicles) when her vehicle’s tyre burst. Both drivers stopped their vehicles on the N2 northbound and were in the process of changing the tyre when they were approached by armed men who demanded valuables.

At this stage, it is unclear as to what transpired between the suspects and the man resulting in him being shot dead.

The armed men stole cellphones from the victims before fleeing.

An official police report on the incident has been requested.

This is a developing story.
