Hyundai Creta offers a smooth ride

The Hyundai Creta is a solid choice for those seeking a practical, well-equipped and comfortable compact SUV.

The 2025 Hyundai Creta is a subcompact SUV with a redesigned exterior, including a new front end with quad beam headlights, and a full-length LED taillight cluster.

It features an updated interior with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system, along with tactile buttons. The N Line variant offers a turbocharged engine, paddle shifters and sportier design elements, let’s hope I receive the N Line soon.

The drive in the 1.5 litre Creta is pleasant and smooth. It has a refreshed look which includes some tweaks such as new matte colour options, which I drove, and added features across the trim levels are well placed.

It’s spacious and there’s plenty of leg room for passengers seated at the rear, making it a good choice for families. The ride was comfortable which shows that the suspension is well-tuned. Also, the steering is light and easy to manage, and at a decent ride height.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine offers good fuel economy. Attending weekend events from one location to another, the naturally aspirated petrol engine is adequate for urban driving. However, on the freeway when more power is needed to overtake, it was a bit noisy.

Coming back to the ride height, the Creta offers good ground clearance. Yes, when I arrived at those weekend events or weekday appointments the signature bold grille was easily noticeable. It’s a good vehicle to hit the country roads and to take a sho’t left around South Africa. Go check it out.
