Rugged Nissan Navara is impressive
It is arguably the best looking bakkie in the pick-up segment.
The Nissan Navara PRO-4X is Nissan’s top-tier, rugged 4×4 and is arguably the best looking bakkie in the pick-up segment. It is known for its enhanced off-road capability with features like Bilstein shocks, all-terrain tires, and aggressive black styling, often with orange accents.
The Navara offers a blend of daily comfort and serious adventure readiness, with a special ‘Warrior’ edition available at Thompson Motors Shelly Beach and Port Shepstone.
The tried-and-tested 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine’s 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque packs more than enough punch.

From inside the cabin, you get minimal noise intrusion, perhaps as good as you’re going to get when it comes to bakkies. The engine is paired with a sweet-shifting seven-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox with a low-range transfer case.
Sales executive Austin Mpofana said the Navara offers one of the most comfortable rides you will experience in a bakkie. “The suspension tuning is on point for both on and off-roads use. The suspension soaks up the bumps with very little transference through the body and the steering wheel. It also offers a nicely weighted steering system that doesn’t feel over-assisted. Combined with comfortable seats, an impressive ergonomic layout of the interior and a cabin that’s easy to see out of, you’ll be pleased with how the 2.5DTI double cab PRO 4X 4×4 goes.”
Nissan claims that the 2.5DTi double cab PRO-4X 4×4 uses 8.1 litres per 100km. It also comes with a six-year or 150 000km warranty and a six-year or 90 000km service plan as standard.
“Visit me at Thompson Motors Shelly Beach and I assure you will be delighted with your purchase of the Navara,” said Austin.
