Toyota Land Cruiser Prado strikes perfect balance

The Prado makes use of a bulkier squared-off appearance inspired by its ancestors. Up front, Toyota lettering sits central on a smaller grille, with slimline LED headlamps on the TX and VX-R grades. The first edition models make exclusive use of round headlamps like classic Land Cruisers. Along the profile, the A-pillar is more upright than the previous generation, and the belt line (30mm lower) rises next to the second-row passengers.

The TX and VX-R grades both make use of multi-spoke 17-inch alloys, with model-specific designs. At the rear, vertical taillights remain, but are no longer positioned as high as before while the full-sized spare has been moved from the tailgate to underneath the Prado’s body. The cabin has also been dramatically revised, with the round Toyota logo giving way to the same Toyota lettering on the front. There are now two screens in front of the driver and centrally located on the facia (9 and 8 inches on the TX and dual 12.3 inches on the VX-R) for displaying instruments and infotainment respectively.

The VX-R has a sunroof, centre console fridge cooler, larger infotainment system screen with 360° camera, memory setting for driver seat, electric third row seating for easy access, wireless phone charger, rear view mirror with camera and heads up display.
