Be cautious with cash

Police offer money safety tips.

Police urge the public not to carry large amounts of cash from the banks, but suggests bank transfers are done as method of payments instead.

This is being encouraged to curb crime.

Employers are also requested to pay staff through debit orders.

People participating in stokvel must exercise caution by depositing the money into a bank account and must not keep cash at home. The Saps also asks that the stokvel payments are made electronically to the recipients.

Cash payments of stokvel must be the last resort and must not be done in public places, but rather contact the nearest station commander for assistance.

Report crime and criminal activities to your nearest Saps, Crime Line SMS 32211 or Crime Stop 086 0010111.
