Joint efforts to keep road users safe

At least 125 motorists were arrested for drunk driving and three stolen vehicles were recovered.

Margate Saps together with Road Traffic Inspectorate, Ray Nkonyeni Municipality and Department of Health conducted a number of roadblocks in Margate, Port Edward, Ezinqoleni and Harding recently.

Sergeant Sbu Ncane said at least 125 motorists were arrested for drunk driving and three stolen vehicles were recovered.

“The roadblocks ensured compliance with road traffic laws and promoted the safety of road users due to the high visibility of law enforcement. Station Commander of Saps Margate is appreciative of the efforts of all roleplayers in making the roadblock a success, as well as the co-operation of motorists,”Ncane added.
