Man attempts to gas parents in their home
As the officer approached the property he was joined by members of the community trying to assist.
A man locked his parents in their house and then opened a gas bottle filling the home with gas recently.
While on patrol in Newtown, Port Shepstone, Lazer 911 Reaction and Response Unit officer Winston Lemon was stopped by a resident requesting assistance at a premises in Dan Pienaar Drive.
The couple’s son had reportedly secured his parents in the property and opened the gas bottle filling the home with gas.
As Lemon approached the property he was joined by members of the community trying to assist.
The officer managed to enter the property where he found the man standing over his mother who was lying on the floor.
He was arrested and handed over to police.
Basil Lanka of Lazer 911 said the parents are safe and in good health, and praised the community members and Lemon for their assistance.
