Cop shot dead

Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed the incident and said a 42 year old man had been arrested.

A Port Shepstone Public Order Policing member, Siyanda Ndlovu of Mtwalume was allegedly shot dead by a policeman based at Harding Saps, at the Ugu Sport and Leisure Centre in Gamalakhe recently.

The incident occurred at a soccer tournament.

Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed the incident and said a 42 year old man from KwaNzimakwe had been arrested.

“Margate police arrested the man after he allegedly shot a 40-year-old man at a sports ground. The victim was rushed to a nearby clinic for medical attention where he was declared dead on arrival.”

Netshiunda said the man appeared in Margate Magistrate’s Court. His next court appearance is on Thursday, December 28.
