Four shot dead in Hibberdene

Police are yet to establish the motive for the killings.

Police are investigating a quadruple murder in Mgangeni near Hibberdene after police were dispatched to a report of multiple gunshots fired just over a week ago, and found four victims lying unresponsive in a house.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala said charges of murder and attempted murder were opened for investigation at Hibberdene police station.

“It is alleged that three unknown gunmen entered the house and opened fire on six men. Four men, aged between 19 and 30, were declared dead at the scene. The fifth victim was taken to hospital while the sixth managed to escape unharmed.”

Gwala added that the motive for the killing is yet to be established. No arrests have been made.
