Police confiscate counterfeit goods

The operations were carried out in Umzinto.

Umzinto Saps recently conducted several operations in its policing area, which led to the discovery of stores selling counterfeit products.

A 30-year-old business owner was found selling counterfeit clothing at a store last Wednesday. The goods were confiscated.

On the same day, a 50-year-old man, the owner of a fruit and vegetable business, was arrested after it was established that he was selling counterfeit cigarettes. A very large amount of cigarettes were confiscated.

Both men will appear in court soon on charges relating to the Counterfeit Goods Act.
