Woman (21) found dead in Mtwalume home
The 21-year-old's family believes that she was killed before being placed on the bed.
The killing of women and children in Mtwalume seems to be an issue that is far from over.
This comes after Mandisa Cele’s lifeless body was found on her bed in Qungeni, Mtwalume, last Sunday.
The 21-year-old’s family believes that she was killed before being placed on the bed.
She was a Grade 12 learner at Sinokubonga High School.
Her father, Mzwandile Dlungele, said the reason they believe that she did not die on her bed was because blood spots were found at the back of the house, making them believe that she was killed and then dragged into the house.
Dlungele added that although they found her last Sunday, they are convinced that she was killed on the Saturday.
He explained that he received a call on Sunday informing him about his daughter’s death.
He said when he got to the scene, he found police there with Cele lying on the bed.
“The police showed us her body but said we could not take a closer look,” said Dlungele.
Dlungele said that they want the law to punish the perpetrator as they cannot take the law into their own hands.
KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed that Cele was found with multiple injuries on her body, saying that a murder case has been opened at Hibberdene police station.
“Enough is enough now; we cannot keep losing women and children like this,” said Nombuso Sibisi of Women of Mtwalume, a non-profit organisation.
