Mother arrested for compelled rape

A Shelly Beach mother was arrested for allegedly forcing her daughters to incidents of sexual assault.

Two sisters, aged 14 and 17, allegedly fled from their abusive mother and sought help from a member of the public recently.

The sisters were taken to the police, where they officially reported the abuse.

The Shelly Beach mother (40) was arrested for allegedly forcing her daughters to incidents of sexual assault.

Saps communications department said a case of compelled rape was opened on July 23, for investigation at Port Shepstone Saps against the mother.

The mother was arrested and appeared at the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s court a week ago. The case was postponed for further investigation.

Police added that the children are safely in the care of a family member. It was reported that the mother and father were divorced.
