Two hijacked vehicles recovered

In one case, the vehicle was hijacked by a gang of armed men.

Hibberdene and the N2 Izingolweni/Harding appear to be hotspots for recent hijackings.

Most recently, Airtrack X-Treme Security, along with Saps K9 Port Shepstone unit, Port Shepstone Highway Patrol and Saps Harding have managed to successfully recover hijacked vehicles and stolen property, and make arrests.

In one case, Hendrik Ludick of Airtrack X-Treme Security, said they were contacted to track and recover a stolen Toyota Quantum.”The main tracking unit was removed, however, a hidden backup tracking unit was activated. The vehicle was recovered, and an arrest was made thanks to the assistance of the K9 unit. Thank you to all involved, great teamwork,” he said.

In another fortunate case, Ludick and his team, with the help of the K9 unit with patrol dog Picasso, managed to recover a Hyundai iX35 hijacked by three men who had firearms and a knife.

“The vehicle was successfully tracked and recovered even while the hijackers jammed the tracking signal. Unfortunately, no arrests were made,” he said.
