A wanted suspect was shot and killed by police on the N2 near Sezela on October 30.
According to police, an inquest was registered for investigation after the incident.
Cases of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition as well as possession of drugs are also being investigated.
When the suspect was spotted on the N2, police attempted to stop his vehicle. Instead, it is alleged he opened fire on the police, and a shootout ensued.
The suspect lost control of the vehicle, and it capsized. He was declared dead on the scene.
Mandrax, heroin, a firearm and ammunition were recovered.
