Arrest made after man’s burnt body found

A 30-year-old man was arrested on a charge of murder earlier this month.

The arrest came after Zizwe Msawenkosi Hlongwane was reported missing at Sawoti Saps on January 19.

Hlongwane failed to return home in the Mbalula area on January 18.

Investigations led by Detective Sergeant Mfanelo Mchunu pointed police in the direction of a suspect who had been well-known to the deceased.

The suspect was officially charged with murder after he pointed out where he had dumped Hlongwane’s body.

Police found the badly burnt body, as well as his burnt vehicle, at Ncazuka area.

The matter will be dealt with in the Dududu District Court.
