A teenage boy who was charged with the attempted murder and attempted rape of a six-year-old girl in Mwalume will be back in court, in Scottburgh, on April 3.
The incident occurred in July last year, where the girl was allegedly assaulted by two unknown suspects while she was walking home from school.
Once she realised the suspects were gone, she ran to a neighbour for help, who took her home.
She had been strangled, hit on the head, and her clothes removed.
The National Prosecuting Authority’s spokesperson, Natasha Kara, said that comment on the case will be provided in due course.
