Trial under way in soldier’s murder
The duo allegedly drove over soldier Vishay Singh outside his house in Palmview, Port Shepstone.
Two men, Durell Govender (26) and Reevek Ramlall (37) are on trial for murder in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court this week.
The duo was arrested two days after they allegedly drove over soldier Vishay Singh (22) outside his house in Ferndale Road, Palmview, on January 9, 2021.
They were granted bail in March 2021.
At the time of the incident, Singh had sustained multiple injuries, which included cervical spine, nasal, jaw, leg and rib fractures, internal bleeding as well as brain damage.
He died in June 2021.
Singh had served in the SANDF, and 2021 would have marked his first official year as a soldier.
