WATCH: CCTV footage leads to intruder’s arrest
The man was then spotted in the Albersville area while officers were on patrol.
CCTV footage captured an intruder who had jumped over a wall and stolen various items from a home in Oslo Beach, but he didn’t get far.
Officers from Lazer 911 got a call for assistance and immediately went to the resident’s home in Bergen Road.
On arrival at the premises, the resident shared the CCTV footage showing a man jumping over their wall to steal copper pipes and a few other items.
Johan Zeeman, Lazer 911’s operations manager, said the CCTV footage was then shared on their internal WhatsApp groups, alerting their response officers to be on the lookout for the intruder.
The man was then spotted in the Albersville area while officers were on patrol.
“Back up was called, and the man was traced and swiftly arrested. He was then taken back to the client in Oslo Beach, where he was positively identified,” said Zeeman.
He was handed over to police, and cases of theft and trespassing have been opened.
