Stay safe on Easter weekend

Be cautious when travelling and ensure properties are secure at all times.

Umkomaas Saps notifies the public that its men and women in blue are working jointly with key stakeholders in the fight against crime and will be out in full force to ensure the safety and security of all during the Easter period.

“Inspired by the spirit of Easter, the aim is to remind everyone of the unconditional love that binds us all together,” said Captain Ranjith Rampersad of Umkomaas Saps.

“We release a message of hope, healing and happiness. It is in this light that we need to be vigilant and prioritise safety and security.”

Be cautious when travelling and ensure properties are secure at all times.

“With our intelligence-driven operations, we have highlighted visibility across our policing area, and we urge residents to report all crimes.”

Rampersad also reminds the public not to drive while under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicants and to adhere to speed limits and traffic regulations.

Those travelling long distances are urged to take breaks to avoid fatigue.
