Man shot dead in KwaNzimakwe days before wedding

Ntshokovane Lubanyana was an active member of the ANC and held a treasury position in his branch.

Simphiwe ‘Ntshokovane’ Lubanyana (41) of KwaNzimakwe, an active member of the ANC, was shot dead outside his home.

Ugu district Communications confirmed the incident and said that Lubanyana of Thundeza location in KwaNzimakwe was found dead in his vehicle on the evening of June 12.

“He was shot multiple times in the upper body. Saps Port Edward have opened a case of murder for investigation. No one has been arrested as yet.”

His older sister, Nonhlanhla Lubanyana said after the family heard gunshots they went outside and saw a man getting into a car.

Lubanyana was murdered a few days before his traditional wedding.

“We are deeply hurt, I cannot even explain what we are feeling right now. We had everything prepared and arranged for his wedding. He was shot right in front of the gate at home and died right there.”
