Top KZN reservists hailed for boosting safety in Margate

Crime prevention champions honoured.

Sphesihle Ntombela was recently named top reservist in KwaZulu-Natal.

Joining her in recognition is Sibusiso Mbatha who was the first runner-up in the same category.

Stephen Herbst of Tidy Towns Shelly to Margate said these two remarkable individuals play a key role in the efforts to re-establish the town as the premier destination on the South Coast. Their dedication stems from the crime prevention team initiated by Brigadier William John Slabbert during his tenure as Margate station commander.

Herbst said they extend a heartfelt thanks to all the security companies, especially Wolf Security, for their ongoing support, and to law enforcement partners whose efforts have been instrumental in this success.

“Though the crime prevention project is only two years old, it has already become a game changer for our four-year-old Tidy Towns movement.”

He said this success shows what can be achieved when like-minded people unite with a shared vision to protect the community, welcome visitors and restore Margate to its rightful place as a vibrant, safe and thriving tourist destination.
