Jail for Craigieburn bush knife assailant
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Damien Chinappen was praised for the successful conviction.
Anele Shozi (20) was found guilty and sentenced to four years’ imprisonment for an attempted murder case in Craigieburn.
On June 20, at about 18:30, there was a dispute between the victim and Shozi. Police stated that Shozi then struck the victim twice on the head with a bush knife.
A case of attempted murder was opened at Umkomaas Saps and Shozi was arrested by the investigating officer, Detective Constable Damien Chinappen on July 18.
Shozi made several appearances at the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court and remained in police custody as bail was denied.
Umkomaas Saps has praised Chinappen for this case.
