Port Shepstone Regional Court jails man for 15 years for assaulting pregnant partner

The investigating officer in this case was Detective Warrant Officer Morne Jones.

Almost a year after Austin Leonard (29) assaulted his pregnant girlfriend, he was sentenced to 15 years in the Port Shepstone Regional Court,

In May 2025, Leonard seriously assaulted his girlfriend and took her cellphone.

A case of theft was registered for investigation and after several appearances in court, Leonard was sentenced.

The investigating officer in this case was Detective Warrant Officer Morne Jones of Port Shepstone Detective Service.
