Bank card theft foiled in Umzinto
The suspects were found in possession of bank cards and other items believed to be linked to criminal activity.
Alert law enforcers were able to put a stop to card theft in the mid-South Coast last week.
Duke Task Team and Security received a report of a card theft that had just occurred at a petrol station in Scottburgh on June 3 at about 09:55.
A description of the suspects and their vehicle was obtained, and the information was relayed to the ground teams.
A be on the lookout alert was issued for the vehicle as well.

Shortly thereafter, the teams spotted the vehicle in the Umzinto area and discreetly observed the suspects’ movements while coordinating an interception strategy.
As the suspects attempted to leave town, Duke members successfully intercepted the vehicle. On searching the suspects and vehicle, members recovered bank cards and other items believed to be linked to criminal activity.
The suspects, together with the vehicle, were immediately detained and transported to Umzinto Saps.
As per Duke Security, the victim thereafter did not open a criminal case.
The team encourages members of the public to open criminal cases at your nearest police station if you are a victim of crime, because without a complainant or formal case, it becomes increasingly difficult for authorities to pursue legal action.
