Municipality steps in after taxi blockade on N2 at Bhobhoyi

A meeting was held between Ray Nkonyeni Municipality and Zamukukhanya Taxi Association.

The N2 at Bhobhoyi is now safe to drive on and was re-opened to traffic late yesterday (Tuesday).

The Zamukukhanya Taxi Association had blocked the N2 with their taxis.

The spokesperson for Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, Simon April confirmed the blockade occurred after the municipality moved the association’s taxis from Dennis Shepstone Street, to the temporary taxi rank in Port Shepstone.

A meeting was then held between the municipality and the association to try and resolve the matter which resulted in letting them back on Dennis Shepstone Street.
