Hijacked vehicle recovered in Tweni by security company – two arrested

The vehicle was hijacked in Hibberdene.

One of Lazer 911’s security teams was on routine crime prevention patrol due to loadshedding this morning (Thursday) when it spotted a vehicle which was hijacked last night in Umtentweni.

The security team closed in and the hijackers were immediately arrested. Knives used in the hijacking were recovered. The men were handed over to Saps for further investigation.

The hijacking took place in Miami Road, Hibberdene late yesterday. Lazer 911’s dispatch centre responded to an alert on the emergency CPF crime group of the incident. Armed response unit located the owner of the car, who said he had been held up by two men using knifes. He said they drove off in his Opel Corsa bakkie, where to he did not know.

All the relevant information was given to Saps and circulated. An extensive search was conducted for the men and vehicle without success, until this morning. Those involved in the successful arrest were praised.
