Four dead in shooting at Port Shepstone taxi rank

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to avoid the area.

A shooting on the corner of Ryder Street and Nelson Mandela Road (near Shoprite and Total garage) in central Port Shepstone has left four people dead.

The entire area is a no-go zone and has been closed-off.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to stay away from the area.

Police and security personnel, EMRS, Mi7 and KZPA together with Med-Evac rescue team are on the scene.

Glen Preston of Med-Evac said that four people have died on the scene, one person was transported to hospital with critical injuries, while three people had serious injuries. A further two people were treated for minor injuries.
