Exciting line-up of artists for Maskandi festival

They include Khuzani, Phuzekhemisi, Bahube, Gcokama Elisha, Ntencane and a collaborated live performance by Mbuzeni and Cwane Lebhaca.

It’s all systems go for the Ugu Maskandi Festival which is set to attract 8000 patrons at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre this Saturday, September 30 from 10:00.

The founder of Ugu Broadcasting Services, Siyabonga Mkhungo said they are ready to showcase the South Coast and its attractions.

“We encourage our visitors to not only look forward to the festival but to explore our tourist destinations and the beautiful scenery the coastline has to offer. There will be a high visibility of police and law enforcement on all roads that lead to the venue and security will also be tight at the venue,” said Mkhungo.

He said VVIP guests can be assured that parking will be made available for them inside the venue, however general ticket holders will be allowed to park outside.

Mkhungo added that the line-up of artists include Khuzani, Phuzekhemisi, Bahube, Gcokama Elisha, Ntencane and a collaborated live performance by Mbuzeni and Cwane Lebhaca just to mention a few. The KwaNjomanje mother and son duo, Smangele and Chicken Mhlongo will also be among the guests.

“In terms of power interruptions, we want to assure our patrons that we have two back-up generators and we are hoping for the best. We have also installed lights around the grounds,” he added.

He said favourable weather conditions are also expected on the day.

“We thank our supporters for entrusting us with this big event and we hope it boosts the South Coast economy in terms of hotel bookings, restaurants and retail stores benefitting,” said Mkhungo.
