Shisanyama lends a helping hand

An elderly, bedridden Murchison grandmother needs more than just groceries.

Margate Shisanyama, Senzi’s Grill and Butchery has been making a difference in the lives of those in need on the South Coast.

The staff along with the owner, Senzi Mnokwe Frey recently visited a home in Murchison as part of their ongoing community service initiative (CSI) programme which started in Mandela Month (July).

For Heritage Month, the team visited an old, bedridden woman living in unfavourable conditions and donated food parcels which has made a huge impact on her life.

Prisca Jumbe, PRO at Senzi’s said they came to know about the woman via their Facebook page.

“The woman’s story touched us and we chose her as the beneficiary for September. When we got to her house we found that she needs more than just food. She needs someone to take care of her. She is currently living with her grandson who does all he can to assist her but it’s not enough. Her home is also not in a good condition.”

She said for the team it has become a tradition to visit the less fortunate and they are pleased to have had the opportunity to help where they can.
