Fallen Friends raise over R20,000 for hospice
Fallen Friends once again supported Hospice whole-heartedly, this time with a friendly pool competition.
Fallen Friends, a local non-profit organisation, once again took action for South Coast Hospice with a classic pool competition, as part of ‘Be a Hero for Hospice’ campaign.

It was held at Van’s Roadhouse in Margate, where the competition raised a whopping R20 260 for hospice and set the scene for a day of friendly competition.

Local artists, including the well-known Ian King, performed free of charge.
Fallen Friends has been supporting hospice with fundraising initiatives for 13 years, therefore establishing itself as a beacon of hope in the community.
The mixed doubles structure provided the ideal blend of competition for players, where the new venue also perfectly captured the atmosphere and was decorated accordingly. The restaurant’s diverse menu selection was also conveniently available to the players and supporters.

The team of Dirk Herbst and Alan Baptista secured gold and first place. Chad De Aguiar and Louise Jordaan settled as the runners-up.

South Coast Hospice extends its gratitude to Fallen Friends, Van’s Roadhouse, sponsors and the community for their unwavering support of their in-home patient care system.
The community is reminded of a men’s only pool competition in May, with the women’s competition in October. Venues and dates to be confirmed.
