WEATHER UPDATE: 11 KZN South Coast beaches closed, Level 4 weather warning issued [WATCH]

Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Emergency Centre can be contacted on 039 6825555.

The South African Weather Services has issued a Level 4 Warning with regards to disruptive rain in the next 36 hours or so.

This warning is about persistent rainfall in areas of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality (RNM), Umzumbe Municipality, Umdoni Municipality and Umuziwabantu Municipality.

The bad weather may lead to flooding of roads and settlements as well as damage to infrastructure and mud-based houses.

People should be on alert, and adhere to all precautions.

Bathing and other recreational activities have been suspended by RNM due to bad weather and sea conditions. The following beaches are closed until further notice:
Hibberdene
Umzumbe
South Port
St Mike’s
Uvongo
Manaba
Margate
Ramsgate
Marina
Trafalgar
Port Edward

The municipality said that it will update the situation once there are new developments.
