Coastal funeral for Dudu Myeni

She is from Oslo Beach.

The funeral service of the former SAA Chairperson, Duduzile ‘Dudu’ Cynthia Myeni (60), who died last week, will be held at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre this weekend.

Myeni is from Oslo Beach.

According to reports, Myeni died of cancer and had been ill for some time.

She was also the Executive Chairperson of the Jacob Zuma Foundation.

In May 2020, it was reported that Myeni was banned for life by the Pretoria High Court to hold any directorship position at any entity after former COO of Bosasa, Angelo Agrizzi, testified that Myeni received monthly illicit payments of R300,000 in cash from them.

This was during her period as the chairperson of the SAA board.

Myeni was unable to attend proceedings in court last month due to ill health, and it is believed that she was undergoing chemotherapy.

According to the SA Cabin Crew Association’s Advocate Chris Shabangu, her death is a big loss.

“To us, she was a phenomenal woman, particularly when she was at SAA. She is someone who stood for the workers regardless of what was being said about her.”

Shabangu said that Myeni was unhappy about how her case was being handled.

The Herald made attempts to contact her family but was told that they would like some privacy for now.
