This event was beautifully old-fashioned, and despite the rain, families and friends brought their picnic baskets, blankets and, of course, teddy bears and other cute soft toys to enjoy the morning outdoors.

The conservancy’s chairperson, Bill Davis, reported that the picnic was a really, really great success.

“Despite the weather, we got a whole lot of children out of their houses and to the picnic site where they got dirty, muddy, hot and sweaty, sticky and played out! That is what it’s all about! And, incidentally, we raised valuable funds for the conservancy. Best of all, we introduced new faces to our little urban gem,” he said.

Donations will be used to keep the non-profit Ivungu River Conservancy, a beautiful urban gem polished to perfection.
