Let’s give this Christmas
In 18 years, the Santa Shoebox project has generously reached 1 226 756 children.
Each year, the Santa Shoebox Project collects and distributes gifts for underprivileged children throughout South Africa and Namibia.
This year, the project aims to reach 900 boxes to gift less fortunate children on the South Coast.
Therefore, the community is asked to join this festive project by visiting www.santashoebox.org.za to register as a supporter.
Pledging is open, and donors are able to choose the child or children for whom they wish to pledge a shoebox.
Then, the next step is to fill the box with a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, washcloth, clothing, educational supplies, sweets/treats and a toy.
The items need to be packed in a standard-sized shoebox or plastic container, colourfully decorated, with the lid wrapped separately.
All items must be new, unused and age-appropriate.
Drop off boxes at Beekman House in Port Shepstone on Saturday, October 26, between 08:00 and 16:00 and on Sunday, October 27, between 08:00 and 14:00.
