Under the law, it is strictly prohibited to ignite fireworks in any area where animals are present, as the loud noise is highly distressing to them.
It’s important to note that fireworks can only be let off during the following times:
*Diwali from 19:00 to 22:00.
*New Year’s Eve from 23:00 to 01:00.
The Lower South Coast SPCA reminds the community that all animals are especially sensitive to loud noises, such as fireworks, as they can hear a broader range of sounds than humans.
The SPCA urges the community to respect these regulations and protect all animals from unnecessary stress.
