Scottburgh Mardi Gras soon
There will be entertainment and stalls for people of all ages.
The Scottburgh Lions Club’s Mardi Gras is fast approaching.
This popular event, which is scheduled for December 22, is highly anticipated by Umdoni locals and holidaymakers alike.
First held in 1993, the Mardi Gras has united many communities in the spirit of entertainment and family fun.
Like many other service organisation projects, this event helps the Lions raise funds for various causes such as free eye and diabetic screenings, childhood cancer support, hunger programmes and environmental projects.
Lions’ president Dennis Botha said that the event is a team effort that revitalises Scottburgh and brings the community together.
Preparations are underway, and an array of entertainment activities are planned for everyone to enjoy. Attractions include jumping castles, a soapbox derby, pony rides, children’s entertainment, visits from Father Christmas, clowns and live DJs to keep the carnival spirit alive.
Additionally, there will be a variety of stalls offering food, clothing, fresh fruits and vegetables, toys, health products and more.
The event promises to be fantastic, with plenty of activities for the whole family.
