Umbango Temple hosts prayer
Karthigai Deepam will be celebrated with great enthusiasm and is an integral part of Tamil culture.
The Umbango Sri Siva Soobramoniar Temple invites all devotees to their Karthigai Deepam prayer today (13th).
The prayer will start at 18:30, followed by a special service. Devotees can bring their offerings for prayer and salt to offer into the bond fire structure.
The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm and is an integral part of Tamil culture. Devoted to Lord Karthikeya (also known as Lord Muruga), the lights of Karthigai Deepam are said to ward off darkness and evil spirits, spreading prosperity and joy.
