Anyone with information regarding the theft can contact 082 9905950.

Another pink torpedo buoy has been stolen at Salmon Bay/Driving Bay at Shelly Beach. This is near Somers Road and Shepstone Road.

A buoy was stolen from Margate Pier earlier this month, but was kindly returned a few days later.

NSRI Station 20 Shelly Beach said the buoy was stolen on December 25.

The pink buoy is a lifesaving device and so is needed in this particular spot due to the fact that there have been multiple incidents of near drownings in the area.

“We appeal to the public to come forward with any information regarding the perpetrators,” said the statement.

The station appealed to the person who stole it to urgently return the buoy. There is video footage of the person involved.

If anyone has any further information about the theft, contact 082 9905950.
