Help learners start 2025 on the right foot
The founding director, Galaletsang Hadebe, said the aim is to change the lives of children.
A non-profit organisation, Ubuhle Foundation, is pleading with the community to help by donating school shoes for children who are unable to afford a pair.
Established in 2020, the organisation has been operating in Johannesburg and has now extended its services to the Lower South Coast. It has already helped some learners with shoes.
The founding director, Galaletsang Hadebe, said the aim is to change the lives of children. However, a huge challenge is the lack of sponsorship.
“We invite everyone fortunate enough to make a difference to help learners start 2025 on the right foot. It may seem like just a pair of shoes, but to many children, it builds the confidence they need to face the school year ahead,” said Hadede.
She also said: “We are hosting a School Shoes Drive through free fitness classes. Join us every weekday morning from 06:30 to 07:30 at St Mike’s Beach. In exchange, attendees are encouraged to bring a pair of school shoes (new or gently used) or make a financial donation to support the cause.”
She said they are grateful to everyone who has already donated and extend their heartfelt thanks to those who plan to contribute. “Together, let us help these children walk confidently into 2025,” she said.
Those willing to lend a helping hand can contact her on 061 5333629.
