Spotting informal shacks from the sky [WATCH]

Similar raids will be conducted in other areas.

A successful drone and foot bush sweep was conducted in Oslo Beach last Friday.

The team comprised of Lazer 911 reaction officers and their supervisors.

Spots were first identified by the Lazer 911 drone, and then the shacks were raided, and occupants were ordered to leave the area by the next day.

Informal dwellings (shacks) have no sanitation, water, electricity and waste disposal facilities.
Manager Brad Waugh of Lazer 911, who headed the operation, said dangerous weapons, drugs and break-in tools were confiscated.

Waugh said his team will do random follow-up sweeps during the night, and similar raids will be conducted in other areas.

He thanked all off-duty Lazer officers who volunteered to assist.
