Media and communicators network

The aim was to share information and to strengthen relationships between the media and communicators.

Communicators, the media and other stakeholders were hosted by the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), along with Gagasi FM, at a media and developmental communication networking session at the Margate Hotel recently.

The GCIS’s Khanyiso Seyisi said the session was to share information and to strengthen relationships between the media and communicators.

Information was shared on the G20 Summit and Sassa cards.

Also, Khulekani Shandu of Gagasi FM did a presentation on the relationship between the media and government sectors.

“We also discussed coding because we are now in the digital era, and as the media and communicators, we need to keep up with the technology.”

The deputy director of GCIS, Mthunzi Mkhungo, explained more about the G20 Summit.

He said meetings have been held across all provinces, and in KZN, Durban was appointed as the host for meetings.

“As KZN, we won’t stop; we will have activations and events, especially in the Ugu District, to inform people about the summit. We will have dialogues and visit various communities.”

Mkhungo also spoke about climate change and the impact it has had in the district.
